It examines common valve types (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check) and their actuation, alongside piping network components (fittings, flanges, supports). Emphasis is placed on selection criteria, design standards (ASME, API), and integrity maintenance.

Rotating Equipment (Pumps): Focuses on the "energy-adding" side, distinguishing between dynamic (centrifugal) pumps—which dominate industry—and positive displacement pumps (gear, lobe, screw, reciprocating). Key operational concepts covered include pump curves, cavitation, and the role of auxiliary systems (seals, lubrication).
