PKBN: Shaping Students Into Role Models

215 STUDENTS of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) under the first cohort of ISQ and iSkills ISQ are enrolled in the 90-day programme from August 20 to November 17. The ISQ and iSkills ISQ programmes involved are iSkills ISQ in Marking and Fitting in Rigging, iSkills Scaffolding and ISQ in Welding. 

This self-empowerment programmes are to shape the students into virtuous, responsible disciplined role models in various aspects, including self-empowerment, religion and nationhood, discipline, physical, entrepreneurship and community service. Possessing the good values to preserve the sovereignty of the nation in line with the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB). This initiative will enhance and help students face the present day challenges as the country’s youth, they are valuable assets for the future that need guidancein order to polish their potential and contribute to our nation.

However this initiatives and the goals envisioned must have support from all parties especially from parents and guardians. The students are to embrace the opportunity and knowledge delivered by their trainers.

Dr Chin Wei Keh, Acting Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education launched of the programme.

The programme is in collaboration with several agencies including IBTE, the National Service Section (program Khidmat Bakti Negara) and Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) for students taking ISQ / iSkills ISQ. The aims tare o inculcate and strengthen integrity, discipline, resilience, competitiveness and sustainability.

Students must complete their training for three months prior to the 12 months learning at institutions and industries in order to be awarded the ISQ/iSkill ISQ certificates.
