IBTE sekali lagi melakar satu sejarah apabila dianugerahkan Sijil Pengiktirafan Sistem Pengurusan Kualiti ISO 9001:2015 yang berlangsung di The Longhouse Training Restaurant, IBTE Kampus Sultan Saiful Rijal, Jalan Muara.

Majlis tersebut dimulakan dengan ucapan alu-aluan dari Yang Mulia Dr Haji Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Pemangku Pengarah / Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif IBTE. Penyampaian Sijil disempurnakan oleh Yang Mulia Mr. Ram M. Desai, Pengurus Pensijilan, Bureau Veritas Brunei.

Penyampaian sijil disaksikan oleh Yang Mulia Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan selaku Pengerusi Lembaga Pengelola IBTE (Chairman Board of Governance)

Penganugerahan sijil ini merupakan satu pengiktirafan dan motivasi kepada seluruh warga IBTE untuk meningkat kualiti perkhidmatan yang efisien seperti pendaftaran kemasukan pelajar, perkembangan kurikulum, penyediaan infrastruktur, pengajaran dan pembelajaran dan penilaian pelajar. Selain itu, ianya membantu usaha pengiktirafan dan akreditasi program-program yang ditawarkan oleh IBTE di peringkat nasional dan antarabangsa.

IBTE telah dianugerahkan pensijilan ISO sejak Mei 2016 dengan ISO 9001:2008 dan pada hari ini, IBTE beralih kepada piawaian ISO yang baru bagi menggantikan versi sebelumnya.

AN OPENING ceremony for the ‘Introduction to School Garden Concept for Schools in Brunei Darussalam’ and ‘Capacity Building on Food Processing, Packaging, and Marketing for Staff and Students of IBTE Agro Technology Campus’ was held at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) School of Agro-Technology and Applied Sciences yesterday.
Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam Dr Sujatmiko was the guest of honour.

Acting Director and Chief Executive Officer of IBTE Dr Haji Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP Dr Irdika Mansur and Principal of IBTE Satellite Campus Norjeeme bin Jenek were also present.

The introduction of the two training programmes was established following the signing of an MoU between IBTE and SEAMEO BIOTROP’s on Advancing Agro-technology Education and Application in Southeast Asia on May 22. One of the scope and fields of cooperation is to conduct a collaborative research and training.

SEAMEO BIOTROP has developed simple technologies that are suitable for community development as well as empowerment of vocational schools.

The ‘Introduction to School Garden Concept for Schools in Brunei Darussalam’ programme will be participated by 13 instructors and from 13 schools.

The school garden programme of SEAMEO BIOTROP aims to improve nutrition, literacy, and entrepreneurship among students. SEAMEO BIOTROP will partner with School of Agro-Technology and Applied Sciences to introduce the programme to schools in Brunei.
School garden is also a powerful object to learn language, mathematics and science.

The ‘Capacity Building on Food Processing, Packaging, and Marketing for Staff and Students of IBTE Agro-Technology Campus’ will be participated by 11 staff and nine students of IBTE School of Agro-Technology and Applied Sciences, as well as three officers from IBTE Continuing Education and Training (IBTE CET).

The programme will introduce and promote entrepreneurship to students of IBTE School of Agro-Technology and Applied Sciences through the production of healthy drinks and food, and to maximise the use of food processing facilities to produce various drinks and food on a commercial scale.

Students will learn entrepreneurship from the harvesting, packaging, and sale of the fruits and vegetables they produce at the school garden, offline and online.

18 November 2018 – Two students from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) have been sent to participate in the ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Youth Summit 2018. This year the summit is held in Clark, Philippines.

The two students representing Brunei Darussalam during this Summit are Abdul Azim bin Haji Aiman and Nur Athirah binti Abdul Aziz, final year students taking HNTec in Travel and Tourism at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus. Accompanying the students is Dayangku Siti Sajidah binti Pengiran Haji Baharuddin, a representative of the National Tourism Organisation and a tourism officer from the Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

The theme of this year’s summit is “Tourism, the Youth, and the Digital Transformation” derived from the World Tourism Day theme 2018. The main objectives of this year’s summit are to enhance competitiveness of ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Youth by education on tourism development through technological innovations and use of digital platforms, to instill principles of sustainable and inclusive development through natural and cultural heritage exposure and community immersion; and lastly, to promote camaraderie and develop leadership potentials of and among the ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Youth.

The summit has been prepared to be as engaging and interactive as possible. Within the 7 days duration participants will be attending lectures, group activities, outdoor and team building activities, Technical tours which covers – Eco Tourism Site, Heritage and Culture and many more. With this Summit, the participants are expected to engage in discussions and activities, have the opportunity to share culture, experiences and officially representing their country.

IBTE Business Campus received a working visit by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry who is also the Deputy Chairman of IBTE Board of Governors.

Also present was Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Industry) and senior officers from the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry.

Upon the Deputy Minister’s arrival, he was greeted by Dr. Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Acting CEO of IBTE and the officers and teaching staff of IBTE Business Campus.

The working visit was to learn more about IBTE and to explore the potential areas that can be tapped for further collaborations.

Dato Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo also visited the Youth Enterprise Services Centre (YES Centre), an authentic learning centre established at the campus to take an in depth look on how students in the campus apply the theory they have learnt into daily industry practice.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made a visit to IBTE Agro-Technology Campus on the day of the launching event for Sembada 188 rice at Kampung Wasan.

Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

During the visit, His Majesty browsed through the mini exhibitions set up by the Agro, Food Science and Aquatic Science Department which highlights hydroponics plantation system, aeroponics, veterinary, and viewed the open bottom aquarium as well as the Rosella product presentation produced by the school.

Present during His Majesty’s visit were Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Ministry of Education, Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Dr. Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Dr. Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Acting CEO of IBTE.

 

The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Market Day was held at the IBTE Sultan Bolkiah Campus (SBC) on the 30th until 31st October 2018.

To officiate the opening ceremony was IBTE Satellite Principal and guest of honour Cikgu Norjemee bin Jenek.

Upon the arrival of Cikgu Norjemee, he was welcomed by Head of the School of Energy and Engineering Satellite Pengiran Mohd Hassan bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.

Organised by the School of Energy and Engineering Satellite, the event presented an opportunity for graduates to connect with prospective employers.

Pengiran Mohd Hassan noted that the Market Day was also a continuation of ‘Industry Engagement’ held at the campus in March this year.

“Market Day 2018 has two main objectives: to provide a platform for graduates to make use of job opportunities relevant to their programme, and also to ease the process in which companies can obtain manpower,” he added.

Thirteen companies and agencies from both the government and private sectors had set up booths.

Over 130 graduates from the HNTec in Building Services Engineering, HNTec in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, HNTec in Plant Engineering, HNTec in Mechanical Engineering, NTec in Welding, NTec in Industrial Equipment and Maintenance, had the opportunity to visit various booths.

The guest of honour presented certificates of appreciation to representatives of the participating agencies.
