BERAKAS, RABU, 06 DISEMBER 2023 – Seramai 1,902 graduan yang mengikuti pelbagai program latihan di Institut Pendidikan Teknikal Brunei (IBTE) telah diraikan hari ini pada Majlis Konvokesyen IBTE Kali Ke-31.

Daripada jumlah berkenaan, 62 orang graduan terdiri daripada pelatih Akademi TVET, 70 orang graduan dari peringkat Diploma, 972 orang graduan dari peringkat Sijil Tertinggi Kebangsaan Pendidikan Teknik (HNTec), 380 orang graduan dari peringkat Sijil Kebangsaan Pendidikan Teknik (NTec) dan 418 orang graduan dari peringkat Sijil Kemahiran Kelayakan Perindustrian (ISQ).

Majlis pada hari ini dibahagikan kepada dua sesi, iaitu sesi pagi dan sesi petang, yang berlangsung di Dewan Plenari, Pusat Persidangan Antarabangsa, Berakas.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat majlis bagi menyempurnakan penyampaian sijil kepada para graduan bagi sesi pagi ialah Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Timbalan Menteri (Tenaga), Jabatan Perdana Menteri, selaku Pengerusi Lembaga Pengelola IBTE.

Majlis bagi sesi pagi dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Mohd Redhuan bin Haji Marjuki, Pegawai Hal Ehwal Masjid Kg Kilanas, dan diikuti dengan bacaan ayat-ayat Suci Al-Quran daripada pelajar IBTE Kampus Nakhoda Ragam, Awang Muhammad Sakhwai bin Saiful.

Majlis diteruskan dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Dr. Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Pengarah Pendidikan Teknik / Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif IBTE. Majlis kemudian diteruskan dengan ucapan daripada tetamu kehormat majlis, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Timbalan Menteri (Tenaga), Jabatan Perdana Menteri.

Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil-sijil kepada para graduan dari Akademi TVET, peringkat Diploma dan peringkat HNTec. Sejurus selepas itu, tetamu kehormat majlis turut menyampaikan Anugerah Best Teacher Trainee, Anugerah Academic Excellence, Anugerah STARS Excellence dan Anugerah Chinese Ambassador kepada graduan-graduan yang terpilih.

Anugerah Chinese Ambassador merupakan anugerah yang diberikan khusus bagi pelajar yang mengikuti program kerjasama antara Kedutaan Republik Rakyat China di Negara Brunei Darussalam dengan Kementerian Pendidikan, dan meliputi para pelajar yang terdiri daripada lima buah institusi pendidikan tinggi termasuk IBTE. Tujuan anugerah ini diperkenalkan adalah untuk mendorong dan menggalakkan lebih ramai lagi pelajar tempatan untuk terlibat sama khususnya dalam kerjasama dua hala, di bawah rangka kerja ‘Belt and Road Initiative’. Selain itu, ia juga bertujuan untuk menyuntik semangat inspirasi belia berbakat yang mempunyai prestasi cemerlang, sentiasa bergiat aktif dalam menyumbang pembangunan negara serta menggalakkan kerjasama praktikal kedua-dua buah negara.

Majlis Konvokesyen IBTE Kali Ke-31 diteruskan lagi pada sebelah petang  dengan penyampaian sijil-sijil kepada para graduan seramai 798 orang dari peringkat NTec dan ISQ, dan kemudian diikuti dengan penyampaian Anugerah Academic Excellence kepada empat orang penerima.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat majlis bagi menyempurnakan penyampaian sijil kepada para graduan bagi sesi petang ialah Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pendidikan.

Turut hadir pada majlis konvokesyen bagi kedua-dua sesi pagi dan petang ialah ahli-ahli Lembaga Pengelola IBTE serta para ibu bapa dan ahli keluarga para graduan yang diraikan.

TUESDAY- Institut Perkhidmatan Awam (IPA), Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (INTAN), Malaysia and Civil Service College (CSC), Republic of Singapore are organising the 14th Brunei-Malaysia-Singapore Leadership Development Programme with ‘Future Ready Public Sector’ as this year’s theme. There are around 30 participants joining the programme, where Brunei Darussalam be the first hosting country.

The participants were invited to IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus (School of Aviation), for the presentation done by Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, IBTE CEO/Director of Technical Education, to share with the participant the role of IBTE in nurturing industry-ready TVET graduates to be highly competent and responsible citizens and to show how TVET is crucial towards building a dynamic economy for Brunei Darussalam.

After the presentation and discussion, the participants were given a tour around the campus hanger and workshops.

Established in the year 2009, the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) is INTAN’s annual trilateral programme, jointly-organised with the Civil Service Institute, Brunei Darussalam, and the Civil Service College (CSC), Singapore. The programme among others aims to serve as a platform for the exchange of context, perspective, knowledge, and experiences between the three countries to face the future landscape on civil service matters.

Every year, the programme is exclusively designed based on an overarching theme that revolves around the latest current governance and/or bilateral issues in the public service, with objectives to focus on leadership development strategy. The programme enables participants to discuss cross-boundary issues experienced by the three countries and utilize the platform to upgrade leadership skills, enhance career-development qualities while forging a network of public officials within the region.

The composition of the programme includes field visits, discussions, and dialogues sessions, as well as social and cultural activities.

FRIDAY– Today’s event marks the culmination of the first cohort of the ASEAN-ROK TVET Mobility Programme in Brunei Darussalam.

19 participants from the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, Lao PDR, the Republic of the Philippines, and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar who have successfully concluded their study in the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing (RQF) ran by Micronet International College.

IBTE is pleased to be one of the organizations to have hosted five participants during the OJT period, during which they worked with the Information Technology Services Division team to apply their learned theoretical concepts.

KUCHING– Two lecturers from HNTec in Real Estate Management and Agency have attended the 25th ASEAN Valuer Association (AVA) Congress 2023 at Riverside Majestic Hotel, Kuching, Sarawak that went from 18th September until 20th September 2023.

Cikgu Hjh Siti Hairaney@Hjh Irene Hj Shahri was the Chief Delegate of AVA-Brunei Chapter as well as the presenter for paperwork title ‘Raising the Bar on Responsible Real Estate Development & Valuations in Brunei Darussalam‘ at the Plenary Session.

Cikgu Siti Amalina Izzati binti Hj Md Sofian also presented the state report for Brunei Darussalam.

ASEAN Valuers Association (AVA) was established in June 1981 and currently has eight member countries comprising of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It is a platform to promote cooperation, create mutual understanding, establishing closer relationship, sharing of information, knowledge and experience in the relevant fields of valuation among valuers and allied professionals of ASEAN country members.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN- Opening Ceremony for IBTE Open Day was held at Dewan RUANG, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex. Presented as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Haji Norjemee bin Jenek, Acting Deputy CEO (Academic) of Institut Pendidikan Teknikal Brunei (IBTE).

The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, follow by Yang Mulia Haji Norjemee bin Jenek struck the opening ceremony gong to officiated the event. After that, the guest of honour was visiting each booths, showcase and exhibition done by IBTE students.

The Open Day was two days event, started on Wednesday, 20th September 2023 until Thursday, 21st September 2023. A total of 10 programmes in HNTec level, NTec level and ISQ level being offered for the upcoming February Intake 2024. The schools that involved during the Open Day were IBTE School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT), IBTE School of Energy and Engineering Central (SEEC) and IBTE School of Hospitality and Tourism (SHNT).

The objective of this event is to give the opportunities for the applicants and public to get to know more information regarding the offered programmes in IBTE as well as to seek consultation and suggestion from the instructors and the IBTE students.

The Continuing Education and Training (CET) were also involved during the IBTE Open Day, offering consultation on the short courses and programmes tailored for adult learners.

TVECAS Station service were provided for ‘walk in registration’ to the applicants who wish to apply to IBTE on the spot. IBTE students who involved in the event organised various activities such as Bake Sales, Barista Showcase, Traditional Brunei quiz and exhibition from each school.

Schools under the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education are very welcome to visit the event; which a group of students and teachers from Sekolah Sukan Brunei Darussalam had visited the IBTE Open Day for the consultations and activities.
