Curriculum Planning and Development Division

The Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD) plays a vital role in shaping and enhancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE). The division ensures that programmes remain relevant, industry-aligned, and responsive to national development needs.

The Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD) is primarily responsible for Curriculum Design and Development, ensuring that TVET programmes are structured to meet industry standards and national qualification frameworks. This involves defining learning outcomes, organising course content, and reviewing programme and module guides before they are implemented across IBTE campuses.

Another key function of CPDD is Programme Monitoring and Evaluation, which includes the regular review and updating of existing programmes to maintain relevance with current industry needs. The division also oversees the approval process for programme extensions and ensures that programme information is accurately reflected in systems such as TVECAS and the e-Prospectus.

Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office at IBTE serves as a central office for managing academic records, student admissions, programme certification, and institutional coordination. Its core functions include overseeing the development and validation of programme guides, managing student registration and enrolment processes, and ensuring the accurate issuance of academic transcripts and certificates.

The office also plays a key role in maintaining student data systems, supporting academic planning through data analysis, and coordinating assessment activities across campuses. Additionally, it facilitates the implementation and monitoring of IBTE Approved Centres, ensuring compliance with institutional standards and readiness requirements.

Through these responsibilities, the Registrar’s Office ensures the integrity of academic processes and supports the smooth operation of student-related services across IBTE.

Research and Statistics Division

The Research and Statistics Division helps IBTE make better decisions by providing accurate and reliable data. This includes collecting and managing information about students, staff, and programmes, and turning it into useful reports for planning and improvement.

The division also carries out surveys to find out how many students are enrolling, completing their studies, employment rates, and how satisfied employers are with IBTE graduates. These findings help IBTE improve its services and programmes.

RSD works closely with other divisions in IBTE and external partners to make sure the information shared is clear, consistent, and useful. By doing this, the division supports IBTE’s goal of offering quality education that meets the needs of students and the job market.

Quality Management Division

The Quality Management Division (QMD) is responsible for ensuring that quality standards are consistently applied across all IBTE schools, campuses, and approved centres. Its main role is to oversee the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring that it is clearly communicated and effectively carried out throughout the institution. QMD also monitors the application of academic policies and guidelines related to teaching and learning, helping to maintain consistency and excellence in programme delivery.

In addition, the division centrally evaluates teaching and learning practices across all programmes and ensures that IBTE Approved Centres comply with academic standards. QMD is supported by two key units: the QMS Unit, which focuses on the implementation and auditing of the Quality Management System, and the Academic Quality Unit, which monitors teaching and learning practices and conducts routine external lesson observations. Together, these units help uphold the integrity and quality of IBTE’s educational offerings.

Student Affairs Division

The Student Affairs Division (SAD) at IBTE plays a key role in supporting students’ overall development and well-being throughout their educational journey. It works closely with IBTE schools to provide guidance and assistance on matters related to student welfare, learning support, career development, transportation, and other student-related concerns. The division also focuses on creating inclusive learning environments by identifying and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

In addition to student support, SAD helps students prepare for life after graduation through career guidance activities, job fairs, and networking opportunities with employers and relevant agencies. It also maintains strong connections with former students through its alumni network, which serves as a platform for academic and career-related collaboration.
