The programmes are made up of modules. The modules are classified as Compulsory, Core Generic, Core Specialised and Elective Modules where applicable.
Each module carries a credit value according to Student Learning Time.
One credit value = 10 hours of Student Learning Time
Assessment may be combination of Continuous Assessments and End Tests
The students must pass ALL types of assessments in order to pass the module
The mark obtained on any assessment (including resit) must not be below the passing mark stated in the module guide
A student who fails a resit in any one type of assessment but achieves a final overall PASS mark or above will be graded as “F” in that particular module
Students are allowed ONE resit for any type of failed assessment . Resit must be taken before the next semester.
The resit must be the same standard as of the failed assessment and should be taken after remedial work has been given to the students.
The highest mark which can be awarded for a resit is the passing mark stated in the module guide.
Students absent with valid reason will be allowed to sit for the assessment and considered as ‘first attempt’. Students absent without a valid reason will be allowed to sit for assessment and will be considered as a ‘resit’. Students absent without a valid reson for 2nd time , deem to ‘have failed’ the assessment.
Student who failed any module(s) will be required to repeat the failed module(s) only.
A student is allowed only ONE chance to repeat the failed module(s).
Academic Board: The Academic Board represents the principal academic body of the institution. The institutions Academic Board members consists of the Principals, the Deputy Principals, Registrar, All Heads of School/Department, Examination Officers, Welfare Officer, Industrial Liaison Officer and other elected members.
Head of School: The head of school or department concerned. He or she is responsible to the Principal of the institution for the effective operation and leadership and management of particular school/department.
