“This apprenticeship programme provides what we refer to as ‘on-the-job training (OTJ)’, which has proven to be among the most effective and necessary training schemes in developing a skilled workforce, by encouraging the apprentices to acquire the essential skills for actual tasks in a real-world environment.”
Currently, there are 143 students enrolled under the NTec Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery and Services from the School of Hospitality and Tourism, at the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.
The Dual-System Apprenticeship module at IBTE is carried out on a block release basis, during which the apprentices are obliged to undergo a year of institution-based training and another year of on-the-job training.
