Institute of Brunei Technical Education held a Tree Planting Campaign in conjunction with the Green Protocol and Day of Action. The event was jointly officiated by the Guest of Honour Yang Mulia Dr Hj Mohd Zamri bin Hj Sabli, Chief Executive Office of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) and invited guests Yang Mulia Hajah Rohayati binti Haji Damit, Assistant Manager in Business Relations for Mitsubishi Corporation Brunei Liaison Office as well as Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash’ari, appointed member of Legislative Council. Other guests include the Senior Management Team of IBTE Sultan Bolkiah Campus and respective Programme Leaders.
The Tree Planting Campaign serves as a support to the Green Protocol Guidelines, which is one of the initiatives towards reduction of carbon footprint in government premises.
With that, a total of 22 saplings have been planted around the buildings in IBTE Sultan Bolkiah Campus. These saplings were contributed by Mitsubishi Corporation Brunei Liaison Office to IBTE in support of the event. The contributions are part of the Environmental Education Tour Project.
Majlis tersebut telah di adakan pada Hari Sabtu 12 Jamadilakhir 1443H bersamaan dengan 15hb Januari 2022, bertempat di IBTE Kampus Bisnes. Tetamu kehormat ialah Dr. Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli Pengarah/Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif IBTE.
Majlis tersebut telah berlangsung pada pukul 3.30 petang. Tiga pohon Tabebuia dan 2 pohon Bidara telah di tanam sempena majlis tersebut.
Sempena Protokol Hijau, sebanyak 180 pohon pokok akan di tanam di kampus-kampus IBTE demi untuk mencapai sasaran Negara dalam melaksanakan Dasar Kebangsaan Perubahan Iklim Negara Brunei Darussalam (Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy).
Langkah-langkah tersebut adalah sebagai contoh (lead by example) oleh pihak Kerajaan, untuk mengurangkan jejak karbon (carbon footprint) dari premis-premis Perkhidmatan Awam seperti;
The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) welcomed 223 new students yesterday during its launch of a virtual orientation week from January 13-15.
IBTE CEO and Director of Technical Education Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli was the guest of honour.
Dr Haji Mohd Zamri outlined IBTE’s core values which are “dedicated to be a highly skilled person in the field of expertise (competence), firm in upholding the principle (integrity), persevere in facing challenges as a team (teamwork), ready to work cooperatively with each other and with stakeholders (collaborative), smart and creative in decision making (innovative); and strive hard to achieve excellent success (excellence)”.
He said all IBTE students, officers and staff must fully grasp the core values to ensure consistency and achieve unity in thinking and action.
The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by opening remarks by IBTE Acting Assistant Director of Academic Norjemee bin Jenek.
IBTE Mechanical Campus Student Representative Council’s Muhammad Khairul Anam bin Mirhassan led the recitation of student’s oath.
Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam’s (BIBD) Islamic finance planner (IFP) Norliah binti Mohd Taib, Royal Brunei Police Force’s (RBPF) ASP Norainah binti Haji Mohd Salleh and ASP Ahmad Faez bin Haji Mohd Hani gave presentations.
