ASSISTANT NURSE STUDENTS IN EXCHANGE PROGRAMME TO ITE EAST COLLEGE, SINGAPORE

5th AUGUST 2018

Six students under the Assistant Nursing Progamme under IBTE Agro-Technology Campus (IBTE ATC) – along with one instructor, Cikgu Singgah Edong – attended clinical lectures at ITE East College in enrolled Nurse Courses as part of the Oversea Industrial Attachment Program (OIAP) that was initiated by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore together with the Department of Nursing Services, Ministry of Health Brunei Darussalam back in 2010.

The exchange programme is set to take place from the 5th of August to the 18th of August 2018.

The main objective of this exchange programme is to increase close collaborations between both of the educational institutions in increasing awareness in health perspectives. This is hoped to be done via exposing and increasing the awareness within the host’s institutional and clinical venue of Hospital Singapore, the Singapore Health Care System, and Nursing by the country’s standards, and also by identifying the differences in nursing practices and education between the two host countries, Brunei and Singapore, while also developing an appreciation of the different cultures.

The exchange programme will also offer the students of IBTE ATC the opportunity to be attached to the Medical and Surgical Unit in Singapore Hospital during the second week.
